Psychotherapy

I provide psychotherapy to adults and couples. I seek to create an open, engaged, comfortable, and constantly evolving therapeutic relationship that motivates you to work through your struggles. I individualize my approach to your unique needs and continually adapt as therapy proceeds. I value and honor your strengths, autonomy, judgment, and unique sore points of emotional pain. My approach is particularly attuned to how relational, physical, or sexual trauma impacts your emotions and functioning. I work well with those who have felt skeptical or dismissive of therapy, and those who worry they will feel awkward in therapy or won't know what to talk about.

I focus on long-term psychodynamic therapy that explores interpersonal and trauma-based patterns, and how these patterns shape personality, emotions, and everyday functioning. I also use mindfulness, problem solving, and other strategies if your needs call for them. Meeting more than once per week can facilitate this work but I am open to your preference.
